Welcome to Manch Vegas -- or, more commonly known as Manchester, the largest city in New Hampshire. The economy here has changed drastically over the past 20 years, as it was once known as a textile mill town, but has since grown into a more diverse area with many economic opportunities. To give you a small idea over how much this city has developed, back in March 2009, Manchester was voted as the second most tax friendly city in America by Kiplinger. Then, earlier in the year, Manchester was rated 13th in CNN's '100 best places in America to live and launch a business'.

The downtown area is an excellent example of the formidable businesses that have blossomed here over the years. The Verizon Wireless Arena is something of a centerpiece to the downtown area. It can seat over 10,000 people for concerts and sporting events. Located on the Merrimack River is the Merchantsauto.com Stadium where you can watch the local AA baseball affiliates play. There is also the Gill Stadium that supports professional minor-league baseball and various other sporting and entertainment events.

The Historic District is a popular place for tourists and locals alike to travel, as there have been a number of redevelopments done to improve the Amoskeag Millyard. Because of the frequent increase in downtown living, many properties that were originally built as tenement housing for the 19th century mill workers have now been converted into more modern, stylish, eclectic residential condominiums. Many new retail stores and education institutions have followed suit by creating unique, yet retro-fitted properties along the Commercial and Canal Streets.

Manchester also has two main retail areas: Downtown Manchester and South Willow Street. The Mall of New Hampshire is also located on South Willow Street, and contains over 125 stores including Macy's, JCPenney, Sears and Best Buy.
